The Upper Hunter
Duration: 60 minutes.
After departing Cessnock Airport you will fly along the cliffs on the
southern edge of the Hunter Valley and over the Brokenback Ranges. The
towns of Broke and Bulga glide underneath as you pass Mount Wambo and
enter the rich equestrian and wine making region of the Jerry's Plains
and Denman region.
You then follow the Hunter River upstream to “Blue Heeler”
country around Muswellbrook – where the famous dog was first bred
more than 160 years ago for local farmers.
To the north you will see the majestic Liverpool Ranges – the southern
boundary of the Tamworth region of New South Wales. Your flight then heads
east past Lake Liddell and Lake St Clair to return to Cessnock via the
Rothbury winegrowing region.
Cost: $150 per person (includes GST, minimum 2 people).
